VOLUNTEER ROLES

Every day volunteers help with important tasks! Below are a variety of ways individuals and groups can help feed our neighbors in need:

ON-CAMPUS PANTRY AT WHITEWATER CROSSING

Volunteers provide guests with nutritious food and a positive shopping experience. Opportunities include:

Personal Shoppers help guests navigate through the store as they select food items.

Loaders pull freezer products for guests and help load groceries in their cars.

Stockers keep the pantry shelves filled.

Drivers pick up and transport donated items from Kroger, Meijer and other locations to the pantry (must have a car or truck).

ON THE MOVE IN THE COMMUNITY

In under-resourced areas, volunteers take food directly to those in need. Opportunities include:

Mobile Pantry Teams pack food bags, and a Hope on Wheels Team distributes the bags to nearby locations.

Backpack Club volunteers stage, pack and deliver food bags to students in need at our local schools.

Meal Train workers organize a meal-distribution list and prepare a box of desserts, drinks and snack items for Weightless Anchor hospitality home in Price Hill.

SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Teams have fun sharing food resources and joy with local kids at events in partnership with Whitewater Crossing. Opportunities include:

Picnics in the Parking Lot partners with Whitewater Crossing and the Life Center to provide food and fun to local children once a week in the summer.

Meet UP! Eat UP! Read UP! partners with Southhwest Local Schools and Harbortown KIDS to share lunch and fun along with academic intervention.

Big Chill! partners with Student Ministry to supply students and leaders with snacks during an annual weekend experience.

Lightning Squad partners with local churches to bring refreshments to an after-school, faith-based club several times a year.
