The Community Pantry has led the effort to end hunger in our community since 2010. As we strive to meet the needs of our neighbors without regard to race, gender, color or ethnicity; the pantry continues to grow, and is now the largest in our local community.

Mission: to provide help and hope for the hungry and hurting in our community.

A rich History

In 2010, 25 dedicated volunteers saw a need to provide for the hungry, then got together to set up and operate a pantry out of a small office.

By 2012, the pantry expanded into an attached three-car garage. Out of this garage, 10 families were served twice a week, and 10 weekend Backpack food bags were provided twice a month to a local school. Many modifications were made in this space to help put hope back on the table for local families.

2017 brought a move to a new, much bigger location on the campus of Whitewater Crossing Christian Church. The new location, with a walk-in freezer, coolers and lots of shelving, allows fresh meat, produce and other pantry items to be offered.

In 2018, the pantry began a Mobile Pantry, taking food out to two communities once a month.

New partnerships continue to be formed, significantly increasing the number of families served and opportunities offered.

An all-volunteer board leads the Community Pantry, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
